At vaathsalyam, we treat each mothers in a unique way with the bliss of natural healing therapies with an integrated approach. The journey of a mother starts from the conception of an embyo.

Our Care

So, ultimate care should be given to the mother from that stage itself. Physically, mentally and emotionally, what you are going to feed the mother will be reflected in every anatomical and physiological system in the body of the child. In Ayurveda, the pregnant woman is called as “ Douhridini”(woman with 2 hearts). From the 4th month onwards, when the brain development starts for the foetus, it expresses its longings/desires through the mother. So fulfilling the desires of the mother is very important for the proper nutrition as well as the physiological and psychological development of the baby. So, proper prenatal care is very important for the mother throughout the pregnancy journey.

Nutrition

Prenatal nutrition is a very important aspect that helps the growth of a child for a lifetime. Ayurvedic nutrition has a particular relevance in prenatal care, which makes it unique from modern nutrition. Based on the dosha (vata-pitta-kapha constitution )and based on the physiological conditions(such as GD and pre-eclampsia, Thyroid issues, etc.), a suitable diet that will supplement all the micro and macro nutrient deficiencies in the body will be prescribed to the pregnant mother. At Vaathsalyam, the proper nutritional consultation is given to all expectant mothers, which will help the journey of both mother and the baby be very healthy, and it helps to promote a smooth delivery.

In Ayurveda, based on the ailments through which the pregnant woman undergoes in each month, particular Ayurvedic medicines will be administered as per our classical texts, which will be very helpful for the proper metabolism of the mother, along with that it will support the growth cycle of the baby in each trimester.
